This is a very good hardcover copy, that is, the original softcover catalog has been rebound in recent cloth, with original covers bound-in. Some chipping of the last few page-edges, and some foxing to the beginning pages, otherwise very good. This is a catalogue of maker marks of faience from all the European countries. This copy has been signed by Edouard Garnier and dated 1896, so it is probably a pre-publication copy, signed and inscribed by the author to a colleague. Text in French. Hundreds of facsimile marks. This catalog is Fascicule IV, from the series of seven fascicules that make up the complete publication of the Musee Ceramique's collection. There are two sections in this catalog: 1) Faiences Emailles with 1608 pieces described; and 2) Faiences Fine with 213 pieces described. Introduction by Garnier. 4to, 10" high X 6" wide, 636 pages.
