Caen, Editions des Archives de Botanique, 1930. 8vo (25.1 x 16.5 cm). 507 pp., one tinted folded map, 362 text figures. Original printed wrappers. = A rare work. We have not seen any other copy on the internet during the last 12 years. With detailed illustrations of many new and poorly known species of Cyanophyceae, a phylum of Bacteria that obtain their energy through photosynthesis. They are the only photosynthetic prokaryotes able to produce oxygen. The large folded map (loosely inserted) covers a large part of Gabon. Uncut, partly unopened. Spine split but otherwise a very good, clean copy.
