Würzburg, Stahel, 1818. 8vo (19.2 x 11.8 cm). vii, 614, [i] pp.; one folded, engraved plate. Contemporary half calf over marbled boards. Spine with gilt ornamental lines and red morocco label with gilt title. Edges yellow. = A rare mineralogical and crystallographical work written by the German naturalist Ambrosius Rau (1784-1830), lacking in the collection of the BM(NH). See their catalogue. Another edition was published in 1826. It is rare too. Small, round, old, owner's stamp "C. T. v. Glaubitz" in the title page and first text page top margins, and front free endpaper. One of the noble Von Glaubitz family, but we do not know who. Some, generally mild, foxing throughout. The plate, however, clean. Cat. BM(NH) p. 1650.
