Piot conceived this illustrated art periodical as a continuation of his Cabinet de l'Amateur et de l'Antiquaire, which he had produced during the early 1840s. Dozens of scholarly articles about painting, prints, drawings, books, and the decorative arts, all written by Piot. Also includes all 34 issues of the Gazette et Bulletin du Cabinet de l'Amateur, which covers the contemporary collecting scene and was issued along with the main publication. Beautifully printed by Didot. A large-paper copy on luxurious Holland paper. Ample margins. Folio, original wraps. Uncut. Very light wear to wraps, internally bright and fine. Very rare on large paper.
