From a total edition of 115 numbered copies, this is one of only nine copies numbered from I to IX containing two suites of the 21 full-page woodcuts by Aligi Sassu (one suite printed in black, one suite printed in bistre and mounted); two suites of the 21 studies (one in black, one in brown); and TWO ORIGINAL DRAWINGS BY SASSU, INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL DESIGN FOR THE WOODCUT RIGHT BEFORE PAGE 1, APPARENTLY THE ONLY PRELIMINARY DRAWING FOR THIS BOOK SIGNED BY THE ARTIST. The book is additionally signed by Sassu, Gian Galeazzo Severi (the translator), and Giampiero Giani (the designer). 4to.
