This is a very good hardcover copy in a full brown leather binding with simple elegant gilt tooling. Four raised bands on the spine alternating with gilt devices, and title in gilt. Small professional repair to top of spine at the hinges. Binding strong. Pale blue and green marbled paper endpapers. Original green and white softcovers bound in. Text in French. Illustrated profusely in black & white with reproductions of the Madonna in Italian art. 12" high X 8" wide, 444 pages. A handsomely bound copy.
