First edition. THE DEDICATION COPY, AND THE UNIQUE COPY ON FINE LAID PAPER WITH HUGE MARGINS, OF DELAY'S FIRST NOVEL. 209 pp. + frontispiece etching by Hermine David. From a total edition of 391 copies, 390 were printed on Marais wove paper, and this unique copy was printed on extremely fine, thick Montval laid paper. It was printed for Delay's wife, to whom the novel is dedicated. 8vo, but the margins are huge, so it measures 37 x 18 cm. Printed wraps. Entirely uncut and unopened. FINE AND BRIGHT, WITH NO DEFECTS. Unique and important.
