Original printed cloth. = A massive work finely illustrating all possible gold mining techniques, machinery, locations, etc. etc. Written by the French mining engineer Edouard Paul Antoine David Levat (1855-1918) who also published the Guide pratique pour la recherche et l'exploitation de l'or en Guyane française. And another, similar work, Richesses minérales des possessions Russes en Asie Centrale under the name Eduard-David Levat. Hinges a bit weak due to the heavy book block, otherwise a very good, complete copy in the attractive publisher's binding.
