The idea behind this artist book is to bring together a series of gouache drawings that have been exhibited previously but which are now spread across various public and private collections. Their reproduction in a single book emphasises their serial quality and allows them to be seen together, as the artist always intended. The drawings were all produced in 2004 for the Fiasco project, for which João Maria Gusmão utilised various media (drawing, sculpture, 16 mm film, etc.). The project was partially shown at Galeria Ara, Lisbon, in 2004.João Maria Gusmão was born in 1979 and lives and works in Lisbon.A graduate of the Faculdade de Belas Artes de Lisboa, he also studied painting for three years at Lisbon’s Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes.
