The society, Ex Oriente Lux (officially: Vooraziaatisch-Egyptisch Genootschap “Ex Oriente Lux”) is a Dutch society that aims to transfer knowledge of the civilizations of the Ancient Near East (ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, countries of the Bible) to a wide audience. Founded in 1933, it still publishes both scientific publications, and magazines and books for the general public. Papers are written in Dutch (mostly in the early volumes), English (mainly in the later volumes), French, and German. The earlier volumes in nice, uniform bindings. A very good, clean set.
