Both volumes in uniform original green hardcover cloth bindings with gilt lettering on the front boards and spines. = Profusely illustrated, and with Latin nomenclature. Text in Chinese. These are volumes I and II of a series in which a total of seven volumes have been published (over a 30 year period). The "Iconographia" aims to become an illustrated guide to all higher plant species growing in China. These early volumes are surprisingly hard to find; the later ones are much more common. A large Chinese and Latin name index at the end of each volume. A former owner, who bought this set in Beijing in 1973 added some notes to the preliminary pages and title of the second volume. Otherwise clean, and in very good condition.
