Published by the author at Christmas 1932, with the best wishes for 1933. A limited edition of 240 copies, of which this is no. 24. The Czech poet Rudolf Medek (1890-1940) was ".an army-related prose writer, and a general in the Czechoslovak Legions in Russia. In 1919 he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order by George V which he sent back after the Munich Agreement, as he did with his Légion d'honneur insignia" (Wikipedia). The illustrations are by the Czech artist, Tavik Frantisek Simon, or Šimona (1877-1942), regarded as one of the most important artists of Czechia of the first half of the 20th century. Dimensions of the signed woodcut 13.5 by 8.3 cm. The artist's signature on the imprint; the author's signature below the new year wish, and on the last text page. Uncut. Not bound, as issued.
