(mm. 365x260), mz. marocchino coevo, dorso a cordoni con fregi e titolo oro, pp. XVI,117, molto ben illustrato da: 22 pregevoli tavole di vedute litografate a colori su disegni del Comandante Porcher - 16 tavole fotografiche di busti e statue - 12 tavole con piante architettoniche di monumenti - 10 tavole con fac-simili di iscrizioni e 1 carta geografica della Cirenaica, oltre a 25 figure nel testo, come da Indice.History of Cyrene - Preparations for the expedition - Tripoli - Benghazi - Cyrene - Commencement of the excavations - Embarkation of the statues on board the "Assurance" - Dealings with the Arabs - Visit to the other towns of the Pentapolis - Continuation of the excavations - Final embarkation. Interessante opera di archeologia, arricchita da un cospicuo materiale fotografico (realizzato da Francis Bedford) per illustrare le bellissime sculture.
