Publisher's dark blue, embossed cloth wirh gilt title on the spine. = First edition of this beautifully illustrated work. With on the half-title a handwritten dedication by the first author, the Spanish-Argentinian zoologist Angel Cabrera (1879-1960), apparently written during a visit to the Wassenaar Zoo, in the Netherlands. The zoo sold its library, in which the books remained unmarked, in 2018. Light shelf wear, two leaves slightly creased in a corner, probably from before binding; otherwise in excellent condition. Rare in this very good state, and with an author's inscription.
