This is now the major survey of Greek Revival architecture in America. Written by the Director of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History, very active in his role as a trustee of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Small folio size, 12" high X 10" wide, 455 pages, illustrated mostly in color. Interesting appendices like,"A Speculation on Power and Sex in Greek Revival America". Another is a "Gazetteer of Important Greek Revival Buildings in the United States Today". Bibliography. Index. This is a near fine cloth copy in a very good dust jacket, completely clean, inside and out, just a few scuffs to the dust jacket, otherwise a fine copy.
