Marbled endpapers.Edges speckled red. = A nicely bound copy of the first edition. Discusses the mainly Tertiary geology and palaeontology of the Paris Bassin. The text engravings include many characteristic shells. Provenance: upside-down on the rear free endpaper verso a stamp of Comptoir Minéralogique & Géologique de Genève. H. Minod.
