In the rear a 12 pp. publisher's catalogue. Original dark marbled boards. Spine with red morocco label with gilt title. = Rare, early, and nicely illustrated geological study on a part of eastern Germany along the river Elbe, near Koenigstein. The illustrations show geologically interesting landscapes and rock outcrops, and many fossils, including molluscs. Written and illustrated by the German palaeontologist and botanist Christian August von Gutbier (1798-1866). Joints and boards rubbed, shield partly abradeds, old library stamp on title otherwise a very good, clean copy.
