Spine with gilt title. = A detailed study by the German geologist and mineralogist, Gustav von Leonhard (1816-1878), with one of the first geological maps of this part of southern Germany. This is the second, much expanded edition. The first (1846) has only 112 pages. It includes the prospectus of Darwin's Enstehung der Arten. translated by H. G. Bronn (four pp., bound in front). Some medium but very periferal foxing in the text, the hand-coloured map is clean. A very good copy. Ward and Carozzi, 1370.
