With a map of the Boston and Maine Railroad with connections, including to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia and St. Johnsbury, VT. A pocket friendly 6.5 by 4 inches when folded, folding out to a full 19.5 by 24 inches, double-sided. An extremely well preserved example for such a delicate item designed for short term use and to be discarded. The thin paper still completely useable with no stains or spots and just very uniform toning to ivory, a little loss or splitting at a few fold points that is quite minor and not intrusive. In all this is in remarkable and fully original state.
Edizione: a very nice specimen and well preserved boston and maine railroad ephemera. a large and extensive folding timetable for trains from boston to numerous points north for the summer of 1892. it includes an attractive engraved cover panel, and a map of the system measuring about 8.5 by 5.5 inches. one side contains the timetables for the various through lines; trains to maine with various branches into new hampshire, vermont, and canada. it includes information on pullman car service and steamship line connections. the reverse side is the daily schedules for the shorter lines; the "workingmen's trains" between boston and newburyport and saugus, swampscott, lawrence, gloucester, and the essex branches. these commuter lines are now run by the mbta, the sole line that remains of the through service trains is now part of amtrak.
