London, The Trustees of the British Museum, 1910-1936. Four volumes in four. 8vo. 1483 pp.; 483 text figures, five tissue-guarded, lithographed plates. Uniform green cloth with gilt title and vignette on the spines. Top edges gilt. = These four volumes form the whole published dicotyledon section of a series. The whole series consists of five volumes [numbered I-, III-V, VII]. The not-included volume I dealt with the orchids. Volume II, supposedly on other monocotyledons was never published. Oddly, volume IV, was not published either (vide Stafleu and Cowan). Volume V was actually co-authored by S. L. M. Moore, but he died before publication. Fawcett did not live to see this part published either. Apparently, the work was discontinued after this volume. All have some library markings, in particular on the title pages.
