Original uniform half cloth over grained boards. Spines with gilt line and titles. = Important catalogue of the algae of Europe. the lithographed portrait is of the German botanist, and mycologist Gottlob Ludwig Rabenhorst (1806-1881) himself, with his facsimile autograph. Boards a bit rubbed, bookplate on the front paste-downs, library marks on spine foot, cancelled stamps on the volume's title pages, however not on the work's title pages.
