Contemporary near uniform pebbled cloth with gilt title on the spines. Edges speckled red. = Rare complete copy of the first work on the quaternary formations of Sweden and the beginning of the geological surveying of Scandinavia. Written by the geologist, mineralogist and founder of the Swedish Geological Survey, Axel Joachim Erdmann (what's in a name) (1814-1869). The Atlas volume is green, the text volume brown, but otherwise they are similar. Three maps a bit foxed in the margin, small stamp on atlas front pastedown, and second titles. Cat.
