Two title pages, 423 pp. [xv, 252, 252bis-252ter; (253-)255-406]; 13 plates of original mounted photographs, numerous geological maps and profiles; numerous text illustrations. Original uniform printed wrappers. = The real thesis, as present by the author, the French geologist Pierre Chauve (b. 1930) to the exam commission on 9 March 1967. This edition has more pages, and the photos are originals, tipped in. Interestingly, there is also a French mountain of 1304 m, named Pierre Chauve. Library stamps on cover. First front wrapper detached; otherwise a very good, clean set.
