Spines with gilt ornamental bands, and small star vignettes; and red and brown label with gilt title. Edges of second volume yellow, the other two white; otherwise uniform. = A rare part of the Ultimate Encyclopaedia and the largest of all great Encyclopaedias and the most important work published during the French Enlightement. This section edited by the French sailor, soldier, naval engineer and naval historian Honoré Sébastien Vial de Clairbois (1733-1816). Wear to the boards, especially the boards' edges; a few leaves folded before binding, resulting in some excess paper in the edges (easily removed); otherwise, a very good, internally clean and complete text set.
