Paris, Panckoucke, 1793-1796. Two parts (texte, atlas] in one. 4to (25.7 x 20.0 cm). 383 pp. [xv, 336; 32]; 114 engraved plates, of which 18 double-sized. 20th century marbled boards. Spine with printed label. = A rare part of the Ultimate Encyclopaedia and the largest of all great Encyclopaedias and the most important work published during the French Enlightement. This section - complete in itself - written by the French writer and editor Jacques Lacombe (1721-1811), who was responsible for many sections of the famous Encyclopédie Méthodique (e.g., Arts et Métiers Mecaniques, Arts aratoires, etc.). This is the complete text and atlas. The atlas was published first. Both parts are rare. The binding, in historical style, is sound, with the label resembling those of the publisher's.
