Paris, Panckoucke, 1792. 4to (27.5 x 21.5 cm). Title to the Encyclopédie, title with wood-engraved vignette, to the Assemblée volume; 804 pp.; one folding chart. Publisher's grey boards. = A rare part of the Ultimate Encyclopaedia and the largest of all great Encyclopaedias and the most important work published during the French Enlightement. This section is complete in itself, despite the fact that it is stated to be a second volume - the announced first volume, on the history of the French Revolution, was never published (see Schmitt). Author is the French lawyer and statistician Jacques Peuchet (1758-1830), who wrote a few parts of the Jurisprudence section of the Encyclopédie too. Uncut.
