This section deals with the so-called Academic arts, viz., horse riding, fencing, dance, and swimming. Edited by the French writer and editor Jacques Lacombe (1721-1811), who was responsible for many sections of the famous Encyclopédie Méthodique (e.g., Amusemens mathématiques, Arts aratoires, etc.). It contains contributions by Allut, Blanquart de Septfontaines, N. Desmarest, and Lalande. A few worm holes and a galley to the hinges; otherwise, a very good, clean and complete copy.
