This is a very good softcover copy with light wear. Very clean inside and and out, just one tiny stain at the lower corner of the title-page. Text in French and English. This catalog was prepared to accompany the Vallois Galery exhibition at the Biennale des Antiquaires de Paris in the fall of 2000. Text by Jose Alvarez. In this essay Alvarez recounts asking Ms. Cheska Vallois which is her favorite piece in the exhibtion? Without hesitation she answers 'Eileen Gray's Pirogue sofa!'. Then she tells about the second-hand furniture man who brought it to her gallery in 1970, and when she went out to the sidewalk to look at it, there it was in perfect condition and the man was asking 2500 francs. It is one among many masterpieces the gallery acquired over the years. All illustrated in color, many with fold-outs. 16 works in the exhibition. 12" high X 10" wide.
