8vo., First Edition, with portrait frontispiece and several plates; navy cloth, upper board blocked in gilt, gilt back, a very good, bright, clean in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter with loss at upper edge of front panel and lightly browned on (predominantly white) rear panel. Standard life of the influential patron of the Edwardian and Georgian periods, whose encouragement and support was invaluable to many aspiring writers, among them Brooke and Sassoon. Marsh was also secretary to Churchill for over twenty years.
