ABOUT THE BOOK: The book Economic Disparities and Fiscal Correctives in Federal Countries: INDIA, CANADA & AUSTRALIA, deals with the fiscal dimension of federalism. Federalism is a political concept based on the understanding that sharing of powers and functions between various layers of government and between the states also. Federal government in India gives two types of grants conditional and unconditional. This differential grants divides the state in terms of their identities and activities. This book also tries to explore how the vertical and horizontal imbalances resulted into fiscal disparities in India. The book not only covers the Indian fiscal federal set up but it also makes a comparative analysis between INDIA, CANADA & AUSTRALIA. It also examines how these three countries deal with their respective fiscal federal set ups? Is there any similarity present between them? This book attempts to give an over view about the importance of economic factors in the political concept of federalism.
