The Austrian medical doctor and botanist Franz Joseph Andreas Nicolaus Unger (1800-1870) was a pioneer in many plant sciences, including palaeobotany, plant physiology and embryology, and plant-soil interaction. Georg Mendel was one of his students. Published in the society's Denkschriften, volume 3. A very good clean copy.
