Original uniform printed cloth. = The magnum opus of the German acarologist Karl Viets (1882-1961). The first volume contains biographies and bibliographies, with occasional portraits, of a great number of acarologists. The second and third part deal with the Hydrachnellae and Halacaridae, being a catalogue of taxa (Zweiter Teil, "Mit 140 abbildungen") of 710 pp, and a "Nomenklator" (index) of of 160 pp. Minimal soiling to the boards, otherwise an excellent, clean set. Rare, especially when complete such as this set.
