Wien, Carl Gerold's Sohn, [1884]. 4to (33.5 x 25.5 cm). [iv], 132 pp., 40 fine tinted lithographs. Original half cloth with chromolithographed illustrated title (frontispiece) mounted on front board. = A finely illustrated work on European deer and in particular their antlers, figured on fourty large plates. One plate shows a complete skeleton of the famous Irish Elk. The preface is dated "Hubertustag" [3 November] 1884. The plates are very well done. Title page and first text leaf with paper restoration in the top margin, otherwise very good with clean plates. Nissen ZBI, 1135.
