Original quarter cloth over printed boards. = The atlas, with 36 nicely tinted lithographs (several folded), showing trilobites, ammonites, bivalves, gastropods, brachiopods, etc. Published in the series, Abhandlungen der geologischen Specialkarte von Preussen und den Thüringschen Staaten Band 2(4). An octavo text volume is not included, although it is much more common. Fraying and chipping to spine top; rear hinge cracked; however, apart from a few, marginal spots, text and plates clean.
