Original uniform printed wrappers and belly bands. = A rare, complete set of this profusely illustrated monograph on European fossil deer, written by the German palaeontologist Hans-Dietrich Kahlke (1924-2017). The third and rarest part was announced on the belly bands of parts I and II as containing "die übrigen Skelett-Teile". This was changed into "Die postkranialen Skelettreste" when published. A printed strip around the cover (present for all three parts) states "Mit Teil III . ist das werk abgeschlossen". Suggestions that this work should be complete in two parts are, therefore, incorrect. An excellent set.
