The author, Andreas Johannes Jäckel, or Jaeckel (1822-1885) was a German clergyman, zoologist - chiefly ornithologist, ichthyologist and chiropterologist. Published in the society's Abhandlungen, Achtes Heft (Volume 8). In the rear one other contribution, with its own pagination, viz., A. Haupt's Beiträge zur Kenntniss des Diliviums und des ältern Alluviums um Bamberg. (157 pp.). Light wear and soiling to wrappers, otherwise a very good, clean copy.
