Large 8vo (24.2 x 15.8 cm). 507 pp., two folded maps, 18 photographic plates (one in full colour), several with printed tissue-guards, five tables (one very large, folded), and 49 (groups of) text figures. Contemporary half cloth over marbled boards. Spine with red morocco label with gilt title. = This is an important contribution to the algal vegetation of the Gulf of Naples, with much information on habitats, seasonal occurrence, etc. The text figures show algae, maps, profiles, etc. Dedicated and signed by the author, the German phycologist Georg Funk (1886-1958) on the first blank, to Dr E. Tiegs. This is the offprint from the Pubblicazioni della Stazione Zoologica di Napoli, suplement to volume VII. A nicely bound copy - without library markings. Spine label a bit worn, otherwise very good, clean. Not in Stafleu and Cowan, nor Cat. BM(NH).
