Later marbled wrappers. = In this paper a new equatorial telescope is described and beautifully illustrated. Edward Nairne (1728-1806) was a British optician and scientific instrument maker. "Nairne patented several electrical machines, including an electrostatic generator . in the early 1770s, Edward Nairne constructed the first successful marine barometer.Nairne's first marine barometer was sent on James Cook's second voyage to the South Pacific" (Wikipedia).
