Leipzig, [Leipziger Schulbilderverlag von F. E. Wachsmuth, ca. 1878]. Giant lithographed plate. Oblong. Glass-framed with plain late 20th century wooden frame. Frame size 71.0 x 92.5 cm. = A fine image of, apparently, two Nile crocodiles in a river, the landscape being sandy, with a single Papyrus stand. Lithographed by Hermann Springer in Leipzig. There is no indication of the publisher, but a near identical plate, with a different subject, is known to have originated from Wachsmuth. A very good item. Clean. We have never seen another copy. Presumably very rare.
