Lille, Le Bigot Frères, 1901. 8vo (22.8 x 15.1 cm). 219 pp.; 119 text illustrations, one large, multi-folded chart, seven lithographed plates. Red buckram with gilt title on the spine. Edges speckled red. Original printed wrappers bound in. = The well-illustrated thesis of the French marine invertebrate zoologist and malacologist Pierre Louis Jules Abel Guiart (1870-1965). The plates show species of Acteon, Scaphander, Philine, Haminoea, Aplysia, etc. The author concludes with a hypothetical phylogeny of the cephalaspids. Very weak bump to upper outer corner; otherwise a very good, clean and well-bound copy.
