About The Book: This book contains An extract from the commentaries on the Punjab campaign, 1848-49, which includes additional information on the history of the Second Sikh War, reports the discovery of a conspiracy to murder officers in Lahore. The leaders of the plot were put to death, and the Queen-mother was apprehended and transported to Benares as a prisoner. Some other individuals were also under arrest, and an English regiment was tasked with guarding the palace.
