This study was originally prepared by the Citizenship Development Society at the instance of Justice J.S. Verma Committee on the operationalisation of fundamental duties. In the context of pressing demands for its copies and its use in various training programmes, orientation seminars etc. It now appears in book form for wider circulation and free availability. , , The contributors to the book include distinguished educationists, administrators, scholars, jurists and constitutional specialists. , , It is not yet another work on value education. The focus throughout this study is on the operationalisation and teaching of the secular citizenship values enshrined in the Constitution of India. , , It is hoped the book will be well received and fond useful by educational institutions, planners, policymakers, teachers, NGOs, all concerned citizens and the students at large.
