AN OUTSTANDING COPY of a charming livre d'artiste, illustrated with a frontispice drypoint portrait of the author by Madrassi, FIVE FULL-PAGE HORS-TEXTE ORIGINAL ETCHINGS BY LOUIS ICART, and ten woodcut lettrines also by Icart. From a total edition of 1100 numbered copies, this is ONE OF ONLY 19 COPIES ON ANTIQUE JAPANESE PAPER (tête). This copy features the frontispiece portrait in four states; the five Icart etchings in four states (remarque state in black, remarque state in sanguine, final state in black, canceled plate); and the lettrines in two states. 4to. Exactly as issued, with the book bound in original wraps (original paper knife laid in) and the extra suites in a separate envelope, all housed in an attractive marbled slipcase. Uncut, unopened, bright, and fine.
