Gotha, Justus Perthes, 1861. 4to (26.3 x 22.0 cm). Title page, 25 pp., one large, folded map in black and blue. Disbound. = An intersting account, with a very detailed map, of the Panamian isthmus, the place where 50 years after this publication the Panama Canal was opened. Wagner included a narrative of his travel from Germany to Panama. From p. 21 onwards he mentions the importance of his study for digging a canal through the isthmus. Published as Ergänzungsheft 5 of Petermann's Geographische Mitteilungen. Some spotting, but in all a good, complete copy.
