To Victor Hugo at the Théâtre de la Porte Saint Martin, asking for tickets for his play "Marie Tudor" (1833) for his wife and himself: "Mr. et Mme. Berlioz ont l'honneur de saluer Mr. V. Hugo et de lui rappeller qu'ils ont besoin de voir Marie Tudor; l'art etant chez eux une religion dont M. Hugo est le grand prêtre. Peut-être sera-t-il po[ssible] à M. Hugo de disposer de deux plac[es] pour Samedi prochain […]". - With traces of former mounting on reverse and former collector's number "97" in pencil. Noticeable damage to the right margin, affecting several letters.
