Folio (38.8 x 25.3 cm). 10 pp. with nine double-sized hand-coloured engraved maps depicting the distribution of mammals, birds, reptiles, butterflies, etc., etc. Original blind-tooled cloth with gilt title on the front board. = A well-executed atlas on animal distribution, arranged by groups, and rich in data. Both the "horizontal" geographical distribution, and the vertical distribution are documented. Six maps are on reptiles, amphibians and fish. Part of the famous Berghaus Physikalischer Atlas, with a nice binding. Small Hungarian stamp on front free endpaper and verso of title, otherwise a very good, clean copy. Not in Nissen.
