Arnhem, J. Voltelen, [1874]. Oblong folio (27.2 x 35.5 cm). Title page, [ii]; 27 full colour maps. Contemporary quarter linen over marbled boards. = This atlas exists in two formats: folio (this copy), or quarto (essentially the same, however, with a vertical fold in all maps. The folio-edition is preferable. The maps are of a high quality, very informative, and one is perplexing, showing the earth with vegetation zones in Mercator projection if the poles were situated on the equator, at 20° West and 160° East. Bound in: a review of this atlas, favorably comparing this atlas with another, similar new atlas, by H. van de Stadt, published in De Tijdspiegel for 1876. Boards rubbed at edges; title page with some thumbingand staining, otherwise very good, complete.
