Descrizione
Bergen, The Bergen Museum, 1903-1907. 20 parts in ten. 4to (26.0 x 18.4 cm). 240 pp.; pp.; 160 plates. Uniform original printed wrappers. = George Ossian Sars (1837-1927) was the father of modern crustacean research. He described the Nordic fauna in 11 parts (not completed at his death), of which this is the fifth part and the only one devoted to the Harpacticoidea. It was published in five instalments, each containing two "parts". Several new species are described in this work. The plates, by the author, are very clear. These are the first 20 parts only. To be complete there should be 443 pp. and 284 plates. Uncut. Therefore, wrappers chipped at edges; several wrappers and pages with stamps; otherwise a good set. Rare in this original state. Nissen ZBI, 3572 [pars].
