First American edition, same year as the British. 8vo, original brown buckram boards, lettered in gilt on the upper cover and spine. 113pp. A very pleasing, bright, as fine copy, internally quite fresh and with only very light evidence of age to the binding.
Edizione: a very lovely copy of lawrence’s second volume of poetry. this american edition has an extended dedication to ottoline morrell and one of the poems and ‘disagreeable advice’ has been renamed ‘irony’. lawrence's poetry is often overshadowed by his famous novels, and trials with censorship, but he published almost 800 of them. those collected here are among his earliest prior to his conversion from the georgian to the modernist traditions.
