Spine with two raised bands, and gilt title. Marbled endpapers. Speckled edges. = A fine monograph on unicellular algae by the German botanist and professor of botany in Berlin, Alexander Braun (1805-1877). Rare. Small private owner's stamp on half-title and title. Foxed throughout. Do not confuse with the Kessinger reprint, which has been dated "1855" by at least one bookseller, but is actually a POD.
